Susan Consoli

Soprano Susan Consoli enjoys an active career in oratorio, opera and recital.  She has worked under such notable directors as Grant Llewellyn, Christopher Hogwood, Laurence Cummings, Bruno Weil, Emmanuelle Haïm, John Harbison, James David Christie, John Finney and Tom Hall.  She made her European debut throughout Germany in 2006 with Boston Camerata in collaboration with the Tero Saarinen Dance Company in performances of Borrowed Light.  She performs regularly with Emmanuel Music's famed Bach Cantata series under founding director Craig Smith.

This season's performances include (2006-7): Monteverdi Orfeo with world renowned Chinese director Chen Shi-Zheng and the Handel & Haydn Society in collaboration with the English National Opera performing “Ninfa”, BWV 25, 76, 77, 95, 98 with Emmanuel Music of Boston, Zipoli San Ignacio de Loyola with Ensemble Abendmusik performing “Mensajero”, Handel Messiah with the Handel Choir of Baltimore, Charpentier Messe de Minuit with the Handel & Hadyn Society, Bach Magnificat & BWV 140 with the Newton Choral Society, Haydn Lord Nelson Mass with Baltimore Choral Arts, Mozart Requiem at Boston College, Schubert Mass in G with the Granite State Symphony, Bach St. Matthew Passion, Handel Dixit Dominus, D. Scarlatti Stabat Mater and BWV 4 with the Carmel Bach Festival as well recitals for soprano & trumpet with world-renowned trumpeter Wolfgang Basch, various recitals in the New England Region as well as educational outreach at youth correctional facilities with Sarasa Chamber Ensemble.  

This summer, Ms. Consoli will be returning for her fourth season as a soloist with the Carmel Bach Festival followed by performances in Portugal with NH Master Chorale and Concord Chorale. Susan can be heard on the Handel & Haydn Society recording of All is Bright for Avie Records.  Ms. Consoli is a member of the performance faculty at Phillips Academy of Andover.
