Joel Frederiksen

 

American bass Joel Frederiksen makes his home in Munich, Germany. He has performed and recorded with many internationally recognized ensembles including the Huelgas Ensemble, Musica fiata, Orlando di Lasso Ensemble, the Freiburger Baroque Orchestra, Unicorn Ensembl, Daedalus Ensemble, Ensemble Gilles Binchois and Ricercar Ensemble. With the American ensembles Waverly Consort and Boston Camerata he toured extensively and has recorded over a dozen CDs. Joel Frederiksen directed and arranged the music for the premiere of Villeggiatura sponsored by the Detmold Literaturburo in Germany, in July 2004. Early Music America notes: “Frederiksen's vocal nuances are splendid… with his powerful bass voice, he makes a worthy Orpheus.”
