Poitiers, France: There were wonderful tributes this day, Friday, September 12, 2014, in memory of the marvelous Pierre Bec, teacher, scholar, medievalist, poet, and good friend to so many of us. Yes, there were some tears, but also much celebration as we contemplated the richness of his intellectual and personal legacy, and as we shared memories of the many years he lived among us. May his seemingly limitless erudition, his boundless curiosity, and his intense love of life continue to inspire us.

…as Camerata gears up for its 60th anniversary reason. Please have a look at our schedule.

We’ll be featuring (among other events) a reprise of “The Sacred Bridge” and its intercultural cast…..but the first item of business is going to be Anne’s brilliant new production of “The Play of Daniel.” Initial rehearsals for that event begin in just a few days.

You won’t want to miss ANY of these performances, so please do join us on the dance floor and sign up for a season subscription. There are still a few days left to get special, discounted prices! We look forward to seeing you!

The CyberCentaur checks this page frequently, and he notes that over the last few days, it soared past 750 “likes.” How lovely, he thinks, for The Boston Camerata to have so many friends and wellwishers in cyberspace. Well, we like you right back. Have a good week!

Frans Brueggen directed The Boston Camerata in the late 1970’s, in one of his first ventures as conductor. He also collaborated as narrator during the first production of “A Renaissance Christmas.” We remember him as a superb musician, and a supremely intelligent and inquisitive human being.
