To celebrate our 60th Anniversary, the Camerata’s Christmas program features music from the early years of the American republic. Our program includes music from a wide range of early tune books and manuscripts, a generous selection of carols, New England anthems, Southern folk hymns and religious ballads for the season.

…in the Camerata’s “Play of Daniel” production savor their epoch-making achievement of last night, we remember, with love, the late Andrea von Ramm (1928-1999), the first Camerata Daniel. Andrea’s prophetic vision of what medieval song could be inspired us then, and continues as a beacon down to the present day.

Colombia native Camila Parias sings the roles of Queen and Angel in the Play of Daniel. She performs with La Donna Musicale, the Choir of the Church of the Advent, The Broken Consort, and Rumbarroco. Camila studied and performed with Benjamin Bagby and Sequentia at the Vancouver Early Music Festival in 2011, and last year joined Camerata for our European tour of “Borrowed Light”. She holds an M.M. from the Longy School of Music of Bard College.
