this morning’s Boston Globe:

Vivid ‘French Christmas’ from Boston Camerata

CAMBRIDGE – “The interesting thing about Christmas,” said artistic director Anne Azéma during the Boston Camerata’s Thursday concert, “is that things mix.” This is true in ways both obvious and obscure. Musical styles mix, of course, and no local group has better revealed the diverse styles and genres…

Nicholas Linfield, a Reader for The Boston Camerata, died peacefully at home in Miami, Florida, on December 23, 2013, with his wife, artist Susanna Caldwell, at his side. He was 73. He reads on our best-selling CD A Medieval Christmas.

MV Times obituary

Congratulations to Boston Camerata musicians for a superb Friday concert in Lexington, and apologies to some in the sellout crowd for some necessary squeezing and reshuffling. We wanted everyone who showed up to hear the concert, and we hope you loved the music!
And now onward to Newbury, MA tonight, and to Schenectady, N.Y. on Sunday.

Standing ovation from a capacity crowd last night in Cambridge. Onward to Lexington, and looking forward to seeing many more friends in a few hours :-)

These are the dates:
December 19, First Church, Cambridge, MA
December 20, Hancock United Church of Christ, Lexington, MA
December 21, First Parish Church, Newbury, MA
(and also December 22, Union College, Schenectady, N.Y.)

…goes to dear friends Tesair and John of North Cambridge, who sheltered and nourished two wayward Camerata musicians, stranded by the now-famous Commute from Hell of December 17, and unable to return home after rehearsals. (One of us finally made it home, but needed a tow after two hours in the Ted Williams tunnel…)

The good news is, the entire cast of “A French Christmas” is now comfortably post-snowstorm-trauma, and ready to give you all a magnificent, luminous musical experience over the next four nights. Here, once again, is the local schedule. A few good seats still remain. See you there!
